Aloha Friday

by Margo on January 16, 2009

Once again it’s An Island Life’s Aloha Friday

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look
forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it
easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

Today’s question is:
Where are you and how’s the weather?

Yeah, I know it may sound pretty boring to you if the weather where you are is normal. But it’s all anyone is talking about this morning on the news in Myrtle Beach and from the chatter on the Weather Channel, a lot of other places too.  It’s 20 degrees and getting even colder… my girls and I all think it is unfair that it is supposed to warm up and rain and not snow by Sunday, then get cold again! We’ll get over it. I’m holding out hope for a freak snowstorm.

It’s been freakin’ hot here in Southern California. We’ve had record-breaking heat. It’s not been fun. High winds… hot weather… equals… allergies. Ugh.

Where is my rain?

I’m in the U.P. and with wind chill right now (9:17 AM) we’re at -20, but it’s better than last night or yesterday when it was -35. We’re supposed to get to 3 today. We’re supposed to hit double digits tomorrow 13. Yipee!

What a day to ask the question! The kids are off school today because the wind chill dropped below -20F. Right now the real temperature is -13F. I have no idea what the wind chill is. I just know the little one came in from shoveling after 15 minutes with bright red fingers and I gave her chapstick.

But let’s talk about what my weather could be like if I hadn’t moved to Michigan. Right now in my hometown in Florida it is a beautifully pleasant 67F. Sunshiny, and full of hope and joy.

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH.

A freak snowstorm is always fun, especially when it catches you off guard. :) So keep holding out for one!

I woke up to 9 degrees this morning, compared to some of your other comments that sounds rather toasty! :)

Thanks for visiting my blog today…..always fun to meet new bloggers!

I am in the northeast and it is beyond cold here. This morning it was -6 when my son left for school and that was without the windchill being factored into things.
