Enough About Me, Let's Talk About You, What Do You Think of Me?

I’m incredibly flattered to have received my first blogging award from my new friend, Sheri, of A Novel Menagerie. I’m not a book blogger (today, anyway; probably not tomorrow either; but SOON, maybe?), but Sheri has welcomed me into her part of the blogging world and provided much needed acceptance and advice.

In this drama, where for time’s sake, I must whittle us down into stereotypes (which we definitely ARE NOT), Sheri is the pretty and popular prom queen, while I am the troubled, but pretty darn nice new kid. The quirky perky and expansive heroine (Sheri) constantly surprises herself and the reading audience with her confidence, intelligence and actions that make life better for all those lucky enough to cross her path (especially for conflicted new kid, who can’t decide on her major) Prom queen shows her how to do cool thing called the “Bend and Snap”, flirt with cute UPS man, and rip ex husband a new one… oh, sorry that’s Legally Blonde.

This award was created by The Book Zombie. The details of the award are simple. It is for all those blogs you cannot wait to read every day, that you look forward to seeing updates on and that have inspired you in your own blogging!

So I am now to pass this award on to a few of my favorite blogs. It’s a quirky list (darn, I just used that word, could change to “diverse,” but don’t want to) of just a few of the blogs that make me laugh, think, cry, oooh, and aaah, sometimes even all these things simultaneously.

If I was an infrequent visitor to my happy place, I’d be destructively jealous as all get out of these blogs – the delete button my weapon of choice after embroiling myself in much negative self talk such as, “I should delete my blog because it… you fill in the blank. Visit them! You’ll be glad you did!

What Were You Thinking?

Sassafras Junction

Tongue in Cheek

Priceless Pearls

Stepford Wife Chronicles

The encouragement of my several hundred few loyal readers who include several old friends and beloved family members is invaluable. I thank them for continuing to visit, even though – as I may have annoyingly mentioned too many times before – I have no idea what I’m doing.

  • Oh, you could not be MORE wrong about me! I was the NERD… the odd one out. I couldn’t make a friend until my life depended on it until the 8th grade, and then there was only one. I was teased incessantly for my poor looks and flat chest (that’s long gone… grew to a DD at age 14).

I skipped 3 grades in school and never had people around me my own age.

    I was never kissed.

My first boyfriend was 18 and I 14 – bad story there.

I made mistake after mistake and have NEVER been accepted.

I can hardly ever make girlfriends because I’m so direct and I don’t know how to play the “girl social game.”

    You’ve inspired me to write!

    Hugs.

  • Thank you very much, Margo! I am honored! I’ll see if I can come up with something worthy to say in the next few days or so…

  • I will try again. I wrote a nice longish comment earlier, and it didn’t work. Lots of problems with comments lately :(

Anyway… thank YOU so much for the honour of including me on your award list.

I feel such joy when I make a new friend who enjoys the trip over to my pad, to read my scattered thoughts. You are a blessing to me, because so often I have posted some lengthy, time-consuming, heart-bearing post, only to agonize over deleting it. When I go to hit the delete button, you have left a beautiful, encouraging comment… it made the effort all worth while.

And, you under-estimate yourself Margo. Don’t ever think you are not blogging anything of value. I love visitng your blog and it is on my daily list also.

We are all different, and no two blogs are the same. That is why I enjoy the blogging world. And you love dogs. What more could a blogging friend want? LOL

  • The proof is in the pictures!

    Thanks for the inspiration

  • Thanks, Margo! I think the best part of blogging is finding kindred spirits across the world. What a wonderful way to keep inspiring one another! :)

  • Thank you for thoughtfulness towards awarding my blog with this award.

    :)

  • Thanks Margo!
This is my first award (and my last one, too? ) and I’m honored to have it come from you.
I know what you mean about a) feeling like you don’t quite fit and b) feeling like a blog imposter. I’m still waiting for people to point and laugh at me for thinking I have anything interesting at all to say.

You definitely do have interesting things to say – I enjoy reading you.

  • Oh, thanks lovey. No, it’s not that I’m not into it. I’ve just been to useless to a) put them up–yes them–getting to it… b) don’t know where, have to re-design sidebar/s somehow…

    Ugh.

And of course you know what you’re doing!
