Musical Monday: Random Talented Child

If you are watching this video and reading this, count yourself lucky. It means that this certain child (not one of my own – I would NEVER, EVER participate in such gratuitous promotion of my own child) hasn’t discovered that I’ve posted her playing one of her piano pieces from the recital the other night on my blog for Musical Monday.

Not that there’s any reason why this random young lady, whose name I don’t even know, but whom I would guess to be 16 years, 8 mos. and 2 days old, would have any way of discovering that I, a complete stranger, would post her performance. She will have no way of knowing that because I just am sharing this one little song. If I were her mother, I would have posted the whole recital including her sister, Princess Sparkle’ pieces. (But Princess Sparkle may want to post her own.)

But this one, made me her mother cry. I know because I was sitting beside this example who would have been a near perfect example of motherhood if it weren’t for her purse that spilled all over the floor and the mascara running down her face. I saw the tears when she pushed her hair – which looked fabulous, by the way – out of her face. Geeesh. Good thing her daughter couldn’t see her.

If I ever run into this random child again, I’ll ask her what the name of the piece is. I think it’s Bravissimo, but I’m pretty sure there are many Bravissimos and I have no idea who the composer is. I’ll have to try to pretend I’m curious about the composer, because I’m just that way, as a piano mother. If she does find out I’ve capitalized (yeah, right) on her, what’s got to be prodigious talent, I will tell her that it’s not like the whole world reads my blog or anything, and that all the readers who make it through this post and watch the video are obviously wonderfully nice and intelligent people.

Happy Musical Monday! Visit Jori and Diane for more! May you all survive each and every end of the school year musical event, graduation and other forms of pomp and circumstance!

  • Absolutely fabulous!!!

My son has a solo with jazz band in a couple weeks. I’ll post if I can get my hands on the school camera!!

  • Awesome performance!

  • just a random. . . wow. That was great.

  • Who is she? I’ve never meet her/stood right next to her in the picture. She did great. Glad you didn’t post mine- I awkwardly stared at the camera..twice.

  • WOW!!!!!!! My husband and I were applauding at the end of this Unknown Young Lady’s performance! Her unknown mother should be VERY proud and give her lots of extra chocolate cake tonight. She is good! As my father would have said “I love hearing a good pie-anna”. :o )) Thanks!

  • WOW! You/she must be so proud.

    Lovely

  • Isn’t it amazing what kinds of talent you can just randomly stumble upon? What are the odds?
(Beautiful. The girl, the music, the mother. Oh, and the SISTER, too. That’s for Princess Sparkle, of whom I am already a fan.)

  • BRAVO BRAVO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Very talented “mystery” player. ((wink))

  • Absolutely wonderful! Brava!

  • I tracked down the random one, and she and her mother say thank you very, very much to each and every one of you!

  • Bravo to that kid, whoever she may be.
I’m a pianist mom as well, fancy that. Nothing quite like the feeling of watching your child play with such feeling.
Of course, the receptions are just as nice, with all the compliments for our offspring. Well we did have a part in it :)

  • Beautiful! The piano playing was too! Good job MOM- AND daughter(s)!

  • What a great mom someone must be for creating an environment that fostered such talent! You should take parenting lessons from her…

  • Super!!

  • mannequin, I’m taking credit big time, for no apparent reason. People always assume I can play… and I can’t!

Nan-Nan, thanks so much! I’m so glad you stopped by :)

Dawn, I’ll have to track her down and beat her secrets out of her.

    Fiona, thanks! For them!
