Note: I think all my Google/Blogger followers made it over! Yea! Still be sure to enter by leaving a comment!
Welcome! Please be sure to subscribe, resubscribe, bookmark, rebookmark, follow, refollow, blah, blah, blah, to my new domain, www.lifeintheshortlane.com.
From what I’ve gathered, those who follow me in Blogger may not be getting updates, even if you see your lovely face in my followers widget. Facebook followers should still be with me, but can comment either here or through Networked Blogs on Facebook to enter.
The transition to my new blogging home has given me some time (five whole days, which we all know is like five months in blog years) to get a grip on this blogging business.
I’ve asked myself these all-important questions. Here they are, followed by my current answers. I reserve right to wake up as a big hot mess tomorrow and change my mind. It’s allowed here.
Should I stop using blogging as a reason to not clean my house?Maybe I should cut back on using this as an excuse to only six days a week.
If I don’t co
mment on dozens of blogs everyday, does that make me me a failure? a bad person? I’m embarrassed to admit that I’ve caught myself more than once, feeling just a little too guilty about not being a commenting maniac – often at the expense of things – like cooking dinner and direct eye contact with real people.
If I lose some subscribers/readers from my old domain who probably weren’t reading anyway, is it that important? Heck, no. This isn’t about numbers… It’s the high quality of all the amazing people who visit.
Is it possible to make my blog a smaller component of my writing life? Something that started out as being on the side, has gotten a little too important. Anyone else ever find themselves still in their pajamas at 4:00 pm? We’ll work on this one.
Enough about me. What about you? Would you like to win this liquid metal bracelet by South American jewelry artist, Sergio Gutierrez?
Studio 77, one of my favorite stores in the whole world, where I actually Do Buy Stuff, has kindly contributed this lovely piece. I had been eying this bracelet for over a year and my dear family gave one to me this past mother’s day. Tilghman at Studio 77 always keeps these bracelets in stock, so if you can’t wait to see if you won, give her a call at 843/497-5931.

I’ll bookmark you and your new link! How exciting!
I hate to tell you this. Being the bearer of bad news is always hard.
When I add you to Google Reader, I get the old site.
I’ll try again in a few hours.
I think I’m still following you! I see myself in the corner and got an update on my dashboard! Love your new look:)
Happy am I to see your sweet face. (Grin)
What a marvelous idea–and what a beautiful bracelet.
Have a wonderful week!
Mother, let me know when (and if?) it ever works for you!
I’m already following you on Twitter and also on here. Yea for me! And congrats on the new blog and the kick-A look.
What a pretty bracelet! Would love to win!!! Am already a follower.
Congrats on the “new” site. Everything looks great!
I’m now a member, and your feed from this site is coming to my google reader. So I think I’m reconnected with you. Very good! I don’t Twitter, though. I haven’t felt I’m missing anything yet and I’m scared of yet another technology. Call me modern day Amish…
I like the look of the new site!
Just dropping by to admire the new digs. Very nice!
I got here from following, so I guess it’s working for me.
I love the new site and look! Very cool! I may have to pick your brain sometime about the whole switch-over. Someday when my brain is fully functioning, that is…
I already followed you on twitter. Just added you on facebook, AND tweeted you (your message). Already a Blogger follower.
Mostly, I just want to be able to find you. Also, I want that bracelet!! It’s beautiful. Have a great day, Margo!
I’m here, and I want the bracelet!
And I think your new site is gorgeous.
I thought you were in Frog Land or something … [grin]
Well, as far as the move to your new site, everything is working fine on my end. I like the new look too. As for the bracelet — GIMME GIMME!! I like shiny objects. (ha ha) Very pretty and sweet idea.
Well, I didn’t know about the switch over because I just follow you on Google Reader. I like your new format, really cool! But, for some reason your change-over didn’t skip a beat on my reader. So, I’m golden! I can still read all of your posts.
And, I say jammies all day baby! 4pm is nothing!
Sheri
LOVE your new home!
I had feedburner hell the past week too, but it seems to have righted itself.
I ADORE the bracelet and already follow you. I don’t twitter or facebook for exactly the reasons you described above. I already spend way too much time in bloggyland as it is.
Congrats on your fabulous new look!
Well, err, I just made it over now. I check my google reader most days and for all of them, no new posts from you were reported. Until today . . . and there were ten. Glad the transition is complete!
I followed just fine–no probs with Blogger.
As for the blogging and commenting. I’m finding I’m really stressing out about posting each day and continuing a quality blog. Summer is killing me this year with working and all. I think it is important to keep the good quality reader–I’m with you on that one.
Also, it’s okay not to comment all the time. I would rather have someone leave a quality comment than a silly one just to comment. There are days when I just want to read and not comment–that’s okay with me if you do the same. Just let me know you’re there every once in awhile–that’s enough for me.
I think I’m following in the right place, too!

ooo great giveaway!! that bracelet is sooo pretty! =)
I have added an entry to my blog. But with only 9 followers (and one of them is you), I wouldn’t expect much traffic from my site!
With Sparkle’s help, we have a winner! I will announce who it is on Monday’s What I Didn’t Buy this Weekend post!
