What I Did Not Buy this Weekend #1
This weekend, I Did Not Buy two things I would like to share with you.
Have you ever played the “If I won the lottery game?” I used to say the first thing I would do, after an obligatory verbal committment to give half to charity, would be to hire a full time maid and cook. I love to cook, but much in the same way I like shopping – when I don’t have to.
Because of ongoing technology issues, I would add this person to my staff:

Now that I think about it, I'd rather not buy shoes
When visiting a college campus this week with my daughter the admissions director described how each dorm not only had a Resident Advisor (RA), but a Resident Technology Advisor (RTA) to help out day or night should problems arise with the school issued laptops and campus-wide wireless service.
“A student can be sitting in the middle of the grass on a remote part of campus and have wireless service,” she exclaimed.
Most days I would settle for wireless service somewhere in my house.
What’s next on college campuses? On call colorists, microdermabraders and waxers for various hair and skin emergencies? Will each dorm have their own personal pizza man?
Since I Did Not Buy a personal on call technology geek, I was feeling a little deprived. I made up for it by not buying something either “human” or “digital”:

Won't they look great with my pajamas as I talk on phone with androids?
Gracious by Kate Spade, $329 at Zappos
Much more suitable than bringing a RTA into a volitile household.
How about you? What did you not buy this weekend?
